About AMWA

Supporting Pre-Med Women On Our Campus

  • Instagram

We are the American Medical Women's Association Pre-Med Chapter with the University of Utah. We aim to advance women in medicine, advocate for equity, and ensure excellence in health care for undergraduate students at the University of Utah. Our organization allows a safe, non-competitive forum for pre-medical students to network and discuss issues such as medical school prerequisites, education, and family challenges. We strive to empower, educate, and support pre-medical students as we advance within medicine. We will achieve this by promoting service projects that benefit the community, while instilling leadership and awareness, providing networking opportunities with AMWA members at the U of U school of medicine, offering opportunities to gain insight and understanding about women's issues in the health field, and offering forums that provide the knowledge, wisdom, and perspective that will further aid women as they progress in the medical profession.

Opportunities From AMWA

AMWA Pre-Medical Chapter at The University of Utah strives to empower, support, and learn with fellow female peers. We hope to provide every resource necessary for a successful, fulfilling, and informed Pre-Med experience. We introduce our members to providers who are willing to answer the questions of Pre-Meds and allow us to shadow them in their clinics and operating rooms. Our members have access to unique volunteering opportunities through our events and established volunteering opportunities that occur at least once a month (coming soon). AMWA Pre-Med Chapter at The University of Utah provides our members with exclusive discounts on MCAT materials, strategy sessions, and full-length practice tests through our partnership with The Princeton Review, an internationally renowned resource for help on standardized testing. We are excited to support future generations of female physicians on this rewarding journey.
